A.P. Moller - Maersk (Maersk) produced an earnings recovery in the first quarter of 2023 that was significantly stronger than anticipated, compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. A prolonged Red Sea crisis along with increased demand combined with a strong performance in the terminals drove the results. Maersk raises its expectations for underlying EBIT to USD -2.0 to 0.0 billion, lifting the lower end of its forecast range because it anticipates that current conditions will persist well into the second half of the year.The year got off to a good start, with the first quarter going just as planned. Conditions in the market are causing demand to trend towards the higher end of our growth guidance.
